A Trip to Secure Housing for Another Month: March ‘11 Edition

So whenever the first of the month rolls around, that means it is time for me to make another trip to WalMart so that I can pay my rent. Since it was so nice out today, which it really hasn’t been much of for months (especially when your main mode of transportation is a pair of legs and a back that belongs to someone twice your age), I thought I’d bring my camera and iPod along. The accompanying soundtrack for this trip will be posted at bottom.. the iTunes Shuffle DJ was on fire today. I actually enjoyed this trip for once.

The view from the front of my apartment complex.

The one part of the trip that I never enjoy because I’m waiting to be struck by a vehicle.

These are everywhere. I’m always prepared for something to strike, Snake Rattle N Roll style .. especially in the dark .. prepared to be in some trouble if that happens.

This is a school that always seems to be letting out around the time I’m making this trip. They were letting out on the way back.

It’s still a ways to go. There’s a whole community approaching on the left. It has shops, a dentist office, a yoga place, a church and some other stuff right next to it. And costs way more than I can afford. You can just tell.

If I’m going to take a positive from being without wheels.. I don’t miss this.

I can’t remember the last time I had one of these. Not to mention outside at this time of year. Small victories. #Winning

Maybe I should go for it. Do I have what it takes? “I would like to apply but I am not a tree. I am a human.”

Or I could collect golf balls and sell them. They grow out here.

Glass Case of Emotion

Headed back. Escaped WalMart. These places do look nice though.

I never walk on the other side over there anymore so I forgot about these buildings but I am fascinated with them. I might be the only person. They are abandoned. I may return to them for closer shots.

The horse on the left didn’t move anything but his head.. and eyeballed me the whole time as I walked by.

This place is next to my complex and it always makes me think of the Willy Wonka Factory.

In the distance is the Savery Savory Mushrooms water tower. It needs an official theme song to sing whenever passing it.

Just about back now, that’s the Westin Hotel in the distance. I used to live alot closer to it and passed it every day. Never been there but it’s a four diamond hotel or some such nonsense.

And we’re back. Here’s the playlist, should you wanna find the songs/listen to em.

2. Breathe Carolina, “Diamonds”
